Front Gardens Competition 2020
Notwithstanding the problems facing us all in 2020, Godmanchester in Bloom once again organised and ran the Front Gardens Competition.
The standard was again very high, and has increased year on year since the Mayor’s Shield was donated over ten years ago.
Awards were given for Best Overall Garden, Pots, Containers and Hanging Baskets, Commercial Premises, Neighbourhood Achievement and All Year Round Garden.
A special award was also given to Ferguson’s Ground Maintenance Team for their involvement in improving the ambience and overall appearance of the Town.

This year the award for Best Overall Garden and Winner of the Mayor’s Shield was 90 London Road.
It proved difficult to decide on Hanging Baskets, Pots and Containers, so two awards were made. The winner of the Hanging Baskets, Containers and Pots Awards went to 40 Crowhill (left), and Rose Cottage, 18 St Ann’s Lane (right).
This year the Commercial Premises Winner was the Exhibition.
There were two Neighbourhood Achievement awards, to Almond Close and the West Street Triangle (the junction with the Causeway).
We have also given an “All Year Round” Garden Award for the garden that changes with the seasons, and that was to 33 London Street.
