Plantings
Over the years Godmanchester in Bloom has added to the street scene by planting trees in verges and green areas alongside the highway, on open parkland at Judith’s Field and the recreation ground, at the cricket ground, at the cemetery and to hide less attractive spots such as electricity sub-stations; thousands of bulbs on roadside verges; the Jubilee Copse close to the Community School and to the pond we helped to clear. We have also planted, with the help of students at the College of Animal Welfare, a hedgerow in the upper reaches of Silver Street. There has also been an annual litter pick around the Town in conjunction with the Town Council.
